Selected Experience

Energy Renewables- Offshore Windfarm Project
Company: BP
Currently developing the HSSE / CDM strategy and processes for a prominent Offshore Windfarm project programme that includes 107 Wind Turbine Generators and up to 4 Offshore substation platforms as well as inter-connector and inter-array cables.

Piccadilly Line Upgrade Project
Company: Transport for London (TFL)
Supporting the installation of 88 modern trains on the Piccadilly Line. Implementing all the HSE/CDM aspects of 10 different substation upgrades across the rail network. This scope of work includes the installation of New Transformers, Rectifiers HV, DC and LV Panels, SCADA. Installation of 100km HV and fibre optic cabling installation. Two large substation extensions providing space for new HV equipment- Hyde Park and Leicester Square. The upgrade of 4 new transformer rooms including integration into the existing power network and the installation of new cable route managements systems (CRMS).

Refurbishment Maintenance & Commercial Projects- Project Value (5-20m)

Providing Principal Designer/ CDM Consultancy services, Policy/Procedure development. CPP/ RAMS reviews, Accident and Incident Investigation, Fire risk assessments, HSE Inspections/audits, safety culture improvement awareness training and effective Client Management.

Airside/Landside Projects- Project Value (20-100m)
Company: Stansted Airport
Provided CDM 2015 Principal Designer support services to Stansted Airport who was the main client. Established and promoted a risk-based culture to improve overall safety performance and created an environment where risks were managed effectively. Created a proportionate design risk management process to ensure consistency in practice and performance for both small commissions and larger projects.

Canada Water Residential Apartment projects- Project Value (200m)
Company: Waterman Group
Carrying out the CDM/ Principal Designer role on the construction of houses, apartment buildings, and larger multi-story high rise buildings together with commercial elements. Engaging clients and managing their needs, concerns and expectations by providing clear, professional and accurate advice. Conducting HSE inspections and audits.

Highways Division Projects- Project Value (50m)
Company: Arup
Scheduled and carried out auditing of procedures and reported on monthly HSE performance. Provided clear HSE/CDM legal compliance advice to directors, managers and project teams so efforts were effectively implemented, and projects targeted. Investigated incidents, ensured lessons were communicated to prevent repeated violations.

Facilities Management – Health and Safety Compliance- Project Value (100m)
Company: BAE Systems
Developed HSE Strategy to promote positive cultural change. Implemented OHSAS 18001 management systems by flowcharting all procedures resulting in a more user friendly and efficient process to manage Health and Safety. Simplified and streamlined the CDM process, reducing bureaucracy and ensuring duty holders were fulfilling their legal obligations. Ensured compliance of all BAE Systems facilities with HSE standards.

CCTV Installation programme- Project Value (200m)
Company: Honeywell- Olympic Games
Accountable for the overall safety on a complex and demanding project with tight time constraints I achieved RIDDOR free project across 29 Olympic sites by leveraging the HSE management system to site level. Raised awareness and delegated HSE responsibilities to site project managers. Deployed risk assessments, method statements, construction phase plans at point of use.

ISO 9001 Audits -Denmark, Norway and Sweden- Project Value (500m)
Company: Rolls Royce
Auditing to ISO 9001 compliance to management system standards. Auditing of procedures and field works to ensure procedures reflect practice. Heavy plant machinery and equipment manufacturing, supplier checks and pre-qualification.

High Rise Apartment Hotels and Residential Apartments- Project Value (1bn)
Company: AECOM – Middle East
Directed the development and implementation of OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 management systems for the company across the 3 Middle East regions to develop consistency across company procedures to standardise and improve performance. Supported high rise building projects and ensured high safety levels were maintained.

Station Modification Improvement Programmes- Project Value (200m)

Provided HSE advice to both project management and site operational teams to facilitate full legislative compliance and support the implementation of safety initiatives on multiple station improvement programmes on the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly Lines. Implementation of QUENSH Contract conditions, managing safety incidents, polices/procedures, Construction phase plans, risk assessments and compliance.

Toolmaking Manufacturing experience
Company: Ford Motor Company
I fully developed, implemented and maintained ISO 9001/14001 safety management system. Conducted over 50 risk assessments reducing risk exposure to staff and carried out internal audits of procedures to improve HSQE performance across several technical departmental areas. Served a four-year inclusive training apprenticeship as a Toolmaker and with 7 years shop floor practical hands-on experience within a manufacturing engineering environment.
